Doug Avery has over 25 years of experience in the lighting industry. He has been a consultant for numerous utility companies, including Southern California Edison, Hawaiian Electric Company, Nevada Power Company and Central Maine Power. For these utilities Mr. Avery has been responsible for developing Demand Side Management Programs related to the installation of efficient lighting systems as well as teaching classes on lighting technology, retrofit options and auditing procedures.

 

Mr. Avery has conducted numerous lighting audits and retrofit design and acted as project manager for a variety of different organizations, including Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Lodi Unified School District, LA County, and the old Sand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. He just completed a seven year project with Department of Energy’s Rebuild America Program where he was manager of the Business Partners, responsible for setting up technical seminars and overseeing demonstration projects and technical assistance.

 

Mr. Avery is currently working for Southern California Edison as a Project Manager for the Design and Engineering Group, responsible for SCE’s Lighting, Refrigeration, and Thermal Testing labs and also for conducting “proof of concept” studies on emerging lighting technology and controls.
