Session 10: Accelerating Progress toward Net Zero Energy Use in Commercial Buildings

Paul has more than 20 years of experience in mechanical system design and is a national leader in engineering for energy-efficient and sustainable buildings. He has provided expertise for nearly 30 LEED projects and is currently engaged in a handful aimed at Net Zero Energy. A highly regarded speaker, Paul presented at Greenbuild in Chicago and is featured in the new Natural Step video "A Passion for Sustainability." In 2004, he was named Engineer of the Year by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance for his commitment to sustainable, high performance buildings. That same year, the Sustainable Industries Journal named him one of the top 25 Green Building Leaders in the Northwest. He is a registered professional engineer in four states, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Bucknell University, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Oregon. He has been president of PAE since 2004.
