Peng Xu has worked at LBNL since 2001, where he has many years’ experience in sustainable building analysis, building commissioning and retrofitting, innovative building controls and performance monitoring, fault detection and diagnosis, and energy simulation. Peng has led a retro-commissioning project in enhancing energy efficiency of buildings in the City of Oakland, and has played an important role in several international collaborations, including the US-China high efficient demonstration building, and LEED certification on the Olympic Villages, and Zero-Energy Buildings in the Villages. Peng is a licensed professional engineer in thermal and fluid dynamics, and serving on various technical and standards committees of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers), and on the editorial board of the Journal of Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology. He is the chairman of Technical Committee 7.4, Smart Building System Technical Committee of ASHRAE. He received his Ph.D. in civil engineering in 2000 from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
